You wake up with the best intentions: close a deal, prep for a call, write that proposal, maybe post on LinkedIn.

But then you’re straight into client delivery, emails, calendar changes, Slack messages, random admin... and before you know it, it’s 6pm and the day’s vanished.

You keep telling yourself: “Next week I’ll catch up.”

But next week looks a lot like this week.

And under the surface, you can feel it: that slow burn of exhaustion. Like you’re constantly running, but never really moving forward.

For solo business owners, this is the default.

Here are a few ways I use ChatGPT to give myself back time and headspace every single week:

  • Prep for sales calls in minutes
    I paste in a prospect’s LinkedIn profile or website and ask ChatGPT to summarise their likely challenges and suggest 3 smart questions to ask on the call. It helps me show up sharp, without spending 30 minutes researching.

  • Write proposals without the admin headache
    After a discovery call, I drop my notes or transcript into ChatGPT and prompt it to draft the scope, deliverables, and investment. It’s not perfect, but it gives me a head start, and I can edit it in 5 minutes instead of starting from scratch.

  • Turn client calls into content
    If I say something smart in a call or a Slack group, I’ll feed the transcript or message into ChatGPT and ask for 3 LinkedIn post ideas or a newsletter intro. No more blank page syndrome.

  • Create lead magnets fast
    When I have an idea for a checklist or tool, I’ll prompt ChatGPT to structure it into a 1-pager with sections and a CTA. I’ve used this process to build valuable resources that would’ve taken hours manually.

The goal here isn’t to automate everything. It’s to remove just enough friction that you can focus your energy on the parts only you can do.

When you’ve got a system that handles the heavy lifting like writing, structuring, summarising, formatting then you start to reclaim the hours you’ve been losing to admin, overthinking, and doing things the long way.

And that’s when your business starts to feel a lot lighter.
